Linen-Based Phenolics are high pressure laminates and are composed of a continuous cotton woven cloth impregnated with a phenolic resin binder.  Linen-based phenolics contain a fine weave linen, and, like canvas phenolic, is known for its mechanical properties.  Some common trade names for Linen Phenolic are Bakelite® and Micarta.
