Ultem® Machining at CCT Precision

Ultem® is a brand name for polyetherimide (PEI), an amorphous polymer with characteristics similar to the related plastic PEEK. Relative to PEEK, PEI is more cost effective, but is lower in impact strength and usable temperature.  This material offers high strength and excellent flame and heat resistance.  Other trade names for polyetherimide ploymer include SUSTAPEI and TECAPEI™.

Ultem® is commonly machined into parts for reusable medical devices, analytical instrumentation, electrical/electronic insulators ans a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures.

By using high speed spindles capable of turning at 30,000 RPM, tightly controlled work envelopes and cutting edge work holding systems, CCT Precision can machine components from the most simple part to the most intricate part on any of the 25+ machines in our facility.
